Comp Card - Stephanie Baird

Stephanie is an actress looking for work in theatre, television and the film industry. Stephanie works regularly in Southern Ontario, Canada.

Stephanie is honoured to have been recently cast by Jane Rogers as the Elsa Photo Double on the Copperheart Entertainment and Gaumont production SPLICE. SPLICE is directed by Vincenzo Natali and stars Sarah Polley (Elsa) and Adrien Brody (Clive).   It was a pleasure working with 2nd Unit director Bob Munroe, a founder of C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures the lead VFX facility for the film.

Splice Synopsis

Clive and Elsa are bold, young genetic engineers whose radical DNA splicing techniques create startling new animal hybrids. Partners both in the lab and out of it, this dangerous couple break their profession's strictest taboo and secretly experiment with a hybrid that contains human DNA. The result is Dren, a fascinatingly alien creature who goes through a series of unexpected changes that take her from a menacing blob with a stinger tail to an eerily beautiful young woman with wings in a short period of time. Dren exceeds Clive and Elsa's wildest dreams until she becomes their worst nightmare.

In March of 2008, I entered one of my class assignments in to the Sprockets, Toronto International Film Festival for Children (TIFFG),  2008 Jump Cuts Showcase and my short film "The Truth About Honesty" was chosen as a finalist.   I would like to thank the program staff and gracious sponsors for making this event possible and the selection committee for selecting my film to be showcased at this incredible event .

The Truth About Honesty Synopsis
